I'm plugging away, I think making some good progress on living, in terms of being and knowing me. Moments where I'm feeling proud of where I'm at, noticing some differences, also still recognizing and being aware of other niggly things. Basically, being human. I think even my ability to acknowledge that is a good thing.
I'm trying to tune in to things that give me joy. To notice it and give it attention and worth. To try to actively to things that give me joy. I was recently reminded that going to grocery stores give me joy. This particular (fancy-ish or artisanal) store reminded me that I like to look at fancy jams and jellies. Fancy oils and vinegars. That nice packaging and labels have an impact on me. And that when I travel, I will continue to visit grocery stores and perhaps picking up something to add to my pantry (of course, within carry-on luggage allowances!) might be something to do.
My dad recently started (radiation) treatment for cancer. (Everything seems to be going ok.) Today, the patient after my dad was wearing an orange jumpsuit, had restraints on their wrists and ankles, and accompanied by two individuals that I would assume are workers in Correctional Services. The individual was chatting with the medical practitioner as they were walking by. I had so many thoughts running through my head. Today already felt like a day where my emotions were feeling quite large, so maybe that had something to do with it, but that particular moment made my mind race and my emotions rise. I have no judgment about it (definitely with respect to the situation, and with respect to my reaction, I'm just letting myself be 'human' and reflecting on it). For some reason, I just felt documenting it in some way.
