The restaurant we went to last night gave me a black dinner napkin because I was wearing dark clothing. I'm trying to figure out if it was a stylistic decision to continue to use white cotton napkins (and providing an alternative) even though they knew that they were leaving lint on the patrons as opposed to just going with linen napkins. What was it about the cotton napkins that they wanted to keep? And the black napkins weren't cotton so the fabric couldn't have been that important.
Anyway, it was the first time that I'd been to a restaurant with napkin options.
